Audit Tasmania launches new Strategic Plan 2025-2028

It’s a great pleasure for me to introduce Audit Tasmania’s Strategic Plan for the coming years.

This Plan is the outcome of extensive stakeholder consultation across Parliament, the many organisations we audit and our own employees.

We have listened to the feedback given and thought deeply about what we do, why it matters and how our work can create greater impact for Tasmanians.

The Plan brings all this thinking and work together: our Strategic Plan 2025-2028 on a page. This Plan outlines:

  • Our Vision – which is to audit for a better Tasmania.
  • Our Purpose – to provide Parliament with insightful and reports to improve public sector performance and accountability.
  • Our Values – to connect, innovate, grow and have impact with integrity.

We also provide detail about our four strategic priorities and major deliverables, including the performance measures that we’ll use to ensure transparency and accountability for the work we do. These priorities are:

  1. Deliver impactful and insightful reports.
  2. Invest in our people and capability.
  3. Utilise contemporary technology and methodology.
  4. Develop our practice management.

You may have noticed that we’ve also changed our name. Audit Tasmania is a clear and concise articulation of what we do and that’s how we’ll be known from 1 July 2025. The Tasmanian Audit Office remains our legislative name.
